“I want to sing the praises of Dr. Singer who performed my neck lift and rhinoplasty in August 2022. He and his wonderful team were excellent at taking care of me through the process and seeing me and calling me to make sure I was ok. I have had plastic surgery before and I can say Dr singer and his team went far and beyond anywhere else I've ever been. I am so happy with my results.”

The Perfect Candidate
During a consultation with Dr. Singer in La Jolla, our plastic surgeon will examine your facial features and inquire about your medical history to determine if you’re a candidate for rhinoplasty. The ideal candidate:
Is in Good Health
You must be healthy enough to receive anesthesia, undergo surgery, and recover. Before you’re approved for surgery, Dr. Singer will ask about any medical conditions you have and any medications you are taking.
Has Finished Developing
In general, rhinoplasty patients should be in their mid-teens or older, so that the growth and shape of the nose have stabilized. This is typically around the age of 14 for girls and 15 for boys.
Has Realistic Expectations
The degree of improvement we can achieve with rhinoplasty is limited by your basic nasal skeleton and skin thickness. Wide noses and nostrils can be narrowed, noses with a hump can be straightened, drooping noses can be lifted, and bulbous tips can be reduced, but we encourage you to have realistic expectations.

What to Expect During Your Rhinoplasty in La Jolla, CA
This cosmetic surgery can take one to three hours to complete, depending on the complexity of your case.
Anesthesia
At our La Jolla facility, one of our board-certified physician anesthesiologists will administer anesthesia to keep you comfortable throughout your procedure. Most patients receive general anesthesia to maximize their safety and comfort.
Incisions
In an open rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Singer will make an incision across the columella, the skin that separates the nostrils. In a closed rhinoplasty procedure, Dr. Singer will make incisions inside the nose. Dr. Singer usually performs closed rhinoplasty so there’s no external scarring.
Reshape
Once our San Diego rhinoplasty surgeon has made incisions and has access to the nasal bone and cartilage, he will reshape them based on your desired outcome.
Correct
If functional rhinoplasty is being performed at the same time as cosmetic rhinoplasty, Dr. Singer will correct the blockage, such as turbinates or a deviated nasal septum to improve breathing.
Sutures
Once he has achieved the desired result, Dr. Singer will suture your incisions closed and provide you with precise rhinoplasty care instructions.
“I had a great experience with Dr. Singer. I got exactly what I wanted. Followed all of his instructions and got great results. I sincerely recommend him. You won’t regret it.”

FAQ About Rhinoplasty
How much does rhinoplasty cost?
Fees vary significantly from patient to patient, depending on the extent and complexity of the surgical procedure, and the length of time required to perform the rhinoplasty. However, we encourage you to avoid bargain prices and choose a qualified surgeon from the start – you only have one nose and face, and Dr. Singer can get your procedure right the first time to save you money in revision costs later. We accept financing if you need help fitting the procedure into your budget.
Does insurance cover nose jobs?
Nose surgery that is performed strictly for aesthetic reasons is considered elective and not covered. However, if Dr. Singer recommends the procedure to improve your breathing, meaning it is health-related, your plan may cover it at least partially. We accept several types of insurance and will maximize all of the benefits available to you.
I’m a man. Will my nose look masculine?
The basic rhinoplasty procedure is similar between male and female patients, but there are subtle variations in a male rhinoplasty to make the result look masculine and blend with the other facial features. For example, the bridge of the nose should be a little higher, and the angle between the nose and the lip should not be as high as in women and girls.
Do you perform revision rhinoplasty?
Yes, Dr. Singer performs many reconstructive or secondary nasal surgeries that were initially performed by other surgeons. Revision rhinoplasty can further improve the overall result or correct a problem from the prior surgery. While the revision may be simple, it may require significant expertise, since the corrective techniques may be more complicated than the initial surgery.
Do you offer nonsurgical nose jobs?
“Nonsurgical nose jobs” or “liquid nose jobs” are a procedure that alters the appearance of the nose with dermal fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic, and/or Dysport®. While this procedure can offer a slight temporary improvement of minor defects for select patients, they are not a replacement for rhinoplasty. If you think you’ll want to undergo rhinoplasty at some point, we recommend avoiding nonsurgical nose jobs to minimize complications.
“I highly recommend Dr. Singer for his talent, credentials and level of expertise. He's a master in his field and he cares for the wellbeing of his patients.”
