Botox® is a trademark of a medication that is injected in the face to temporarily decrease wrinkles and creases by interfering with the nerve impulses that cause the underlying muscle to contract and cause the wrinkle. These lines and wrinkles are often the result of repeated facial expressions that eventually cause the muscle to remain contracted even when your face is at rest.

Dysport® is a trademark of a medication that works like Botox®. It is injected into the skin to safely interfere with the nerve impulses that cause facial muscles to contract and create wrinkles. These lines and wrinkles often form as a result of repeated facial expressions so that the muscles remain contracted even at rest.

Juvederm® is a gel-based dermal filler that is injected into the skin to soften lines, wrinkles, and folds on the face and neck. It is made of hyaluronic acid, which is already contained in the body. For this reason, no allergy tests are required. Juvederm® is effective on moderate to severe wrinkles on the cheeks and the nasolabial folds that form from the nose to the corners of the mouth. It can also be used for temporary lip augmentation to make thin lips fuller and poutier. The results are immediate, and Juvederm® injections usually last 6-9 months, although some patients have seen the results last as long as a year.

Juvederm® Voluma XC is a dermal filler injectable that improves the loss of facial volume primarily in the cheek area. This non-surgical treatment can also sometimes be used to fill hollows in the face and subtly lift the mid-face.

It is not appropriate for fine lines and wrinkles. Juvederm® Voluma is injected deeper into the tissue than Juvederm®, which allows it to support the skin’s structure. A key advantage to Juvederm® Voluma is that the results can last up to two years, and you will see the results immediately.

Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that improves the signs of aging without surgery. It is an injectable that corrects nasolabial folds, marionette lines, hollows of the eyelids, fine lines above the upper lip, and smile lines around the mouth. Since hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in the body, there is no need for allergy tests.
